The Therapist

You asked me to close my eyes; to keep my feet firmly on the ground.
To visualise my past through a person - that I still loved.
You said, please recall the first time that you felt you’d be together.
I knew at that moment as my tears flowed: my longing.
Under the tree as our sun rose, heads and hearts aligned. Reading
aloud to each other the mysteries of the East.
Everybody knows this, everybody knows.
(I knew then oh that was it. I knew then)
Everybody knows this. Everybody knows.
You asked me what I would say to the young girl living inside of me.
As a child again, I spoke to myself and I told her it’s going to be OK.

Sound, air, moon, stars.
Light changing from afar.
Am I to you, what seems to be a melancholic mystery.
What was is not, if fact, I find
That only time will heal my mind.
The sound that comes in through the trees: that’s distance heard
between the leaves.
My focus shifts and what remains are tall firm oaks in passing lanes.

Love Again
07:10
|
|||
You always wanted to spend the summer months
Here among the city’s parks
The strangers.
Smiles are easy at this time,
The passers by feeling connections they crave in darker times.
Can I trace the hours spent?
Can I recall the moments I repent?
Can I trace the feelings lost?
Can I forget you at all costs?
We can love again we can love again we can love again we can love
again we can love again we can love again we can love again we can
love again.
We can love again we can love again we can love again we can love
again we can love again we can love again we can love again we can
love again.
Returning East, the evening surrenders to the beauty, the focus of
something new.
Scared of losing what I once had,
Hoping that
beauty
that
focus
will see me through.
We can love again we can love again we can love again we can love
again we can love again we can love again we can love again we can
love again.
We can love again we can love again we can love again we can love
again we can love again we can love again we can love again we can
love again.

The end was in the beginning and yet we went on; that must mean
that our path has always been known.
This time in my life, this searching for what is real.
Holding on to what I love, what I could only feel.
O the only cure for my pain is finding moments of solace.
Walking without you, I hear that you’re close.
Hold me in darkness, my heart’s in repose.
Longing for moments, I hope this feels right.
Knowing I know when the time comes at night.
O the only cure for my pain is finding moments of solace.
Walking without you, I hear that you’re close.
Hold me in darkness, my love’s in repose.
Longing for moments, I hope this feels right.
Knowing I know when the time comes at night.

Would I go back? ask me would I go through all this again to be
where I am now? go on, ask me…and all this wading through and
lots of memories and emotions and feelings again to be where I
am now? yes: yes would be the answer - hole-heartedly and heartwrenchingly
and yes would I move through all this wading and
through this loft of emotions to understand how I feel now - this
process of rationalisation and intellectualising of thought and
remember she said feelings are facts….okay? and stop writing and
stop making sense of it all; you never know anyway and you never
stop using and that word is… picture yourself walking through
this alone; where it leaves you is an unknown destination - I never
really had a sense of direction anyway so ammm what am I saying?
i am saying I believe in love and I’m saying I believe in solitude, I’m
saying I believe in the newness of the self, of the regeneration of this
body and mind - the regeneration of… (I believe in pain, also how
cathartic the process is - I believe in sadness and desolation because
what comes out is the truth) i’ve been trying to separate my head and
my heart; I’m constantly failing but I’m failing better and what’s next
and come on show me, and show me, show me: let me show myself
it’s more like…with it! - this, this is the visceral part coming out.

Another Step
02:33
|
|||
I have another step to take, probably many more in this life.
It’s been edging closer
And now I’m able to see.
I needed to know how you feel and if you’d agree on eternity with me.
I have another step to take; to register new feelings that I must make.
No more deciding, no more overriding.
It’s like we’ve always known how this would go.
